Moms & More is a West Hartford, Connecticut based parents group consisting of mothers, fathers and children. The group is dedicated to
serving both parents' and childrens' needs. These needs are met via meetings, playgroups, social outings, distribution of community calendars and
event planning.
Moms & More provides a social outlet for parents, a chance for children to meet and form lasting relationships, and
information on what is going on in and around the West Hartford community.
"Hi and Welcome to the Moms & More website. Moms & More is a
West Hartford-based parent organization designed to meet the needs of parents and children of West Hartford and the surrounding communities. Our
mission is to bring a small town atmosphere into a large city.
The idea of Moms & More began in September of 2001. After working for eight
years, I decided that staying at home was right for me. The events of 9/11 helped make that decision a reality and I credit Mark Ludvigsen for
inspiring me.
After working and not being involved with daily child-rearing, I realized that there was a community of parents and activities
that were not familiar. Researching events and community activities for myself proved to be entertaining, fun and challenging. If I was doing research
for myself, others should benefit from it as well. Thus, the idea of assisting working and stay-at-home parents was formed. Working parents would
benefit from the event information, night activities and meetings, and stay-at-home parents would benefit from the daily events for parents and
children.
And, we are happy to report that after many hours of photo copying and years later, Moms & More is a smashing success and is an
integral part of the West Hartford community. We now have playgroups, book clubs, daily children's events, nightly parents and children's events,
walking groups and much more.
And, thank you to a number of individuals, we continue to thrive and grow by leaps and bounds. A special thanks
to my husband and three children for their support and love."
